For example: teach us how to make macaronie and cheese, how to paint your nails, how to check your email, etc.

This project is to give you the opportunity to raise your Big Idea 4: Algorithms standard (which a lot of you have been asking about)

How to make a Vegetable Stir Fry

Step 1: Gather your Materials

Get some vegetables from your refrigerator or freezer (suggestions: peppers, onions, broccoli, peas) and soy sauce.

Get the rice from your pantry and get a pan, some oil, the rice maker, a knife for cutting, a cutting board, a wooden spoon or plastic spatula and a one cup measuring cup.

Step 2: Start the rice

Use the measuring cup to measure out one cup of rice--put that in the rice cooker bowl.

Walk to the sink with the measuring cup and rice cooker bowl. Turn on the water, and use the measuring cup to measure out two cups of water and put it in the bowl. Turn off the water.

Return to the rice cooker and plug it in. Put the bowl inside, the lid on and turn on the rice cooker.

Step 3: Prepare the vegetables.

Take your cutting board and put it flat on the counter, take a vegetable (for example broccoli) and lay it on the cutting board. Take the knife safely by the handle and cut the vegetable into bite sized pieces. Cut all vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

Step 4: Start cooking

Walk to your stove and turn it on to medium heat. Place your pan on the heat. Then take your oil and open it, pour about a tablespoon into the pan. Wait for a minute for it to get hot.

Add your vegetables to the pan using your hand (but keep your hand far away from the oil). Use your spoon or spatula to mix the vegetables around the pan slowly for 6 - 8 minutes until they are soft.

Step 5: Add the rice and soy sauce!

Once your vegetables are soft, your rice should be done in the rice cooker. Carefully take off the lid, and scoop the rice using your spoon or spatula into the pan with the vegetables.

Pour in seven shakes of soy sauce and use your spoon or spatula to mix. Mix the vegetables and rice together around with the spoon or spatula so that the soy sauce is on all of the rice and vegetables (the rice will now be brown).

Step 6: Enjoy!

Turn off the stove. Get a bowl or plate from your cabinet, use the spoon or spatula to scoop out the stir fry and place it on the bowl or plate. Get a spoon from the drawer and eat your stir fry!
